Along the rim of the Grand Canyon west from the Village to Hermits Rest

I took the shuttle bus along the Hermits Rest route, got off at all the overlook sites, and walked portions of the rim trail which ends about 7 miles from the start of the route.

The first stop on the route is Trailview Overlook where you can see portions of the Bright Angel Trail winding down from the rim into the canyon.  Some of the upper parts of the trail were snowy.

Most of the overlooks on the shuttle route are at points that offer sweeping views of the canyon, and at places views of the Colorado River far below.

  1. Great grouping of canyon photos for sure. Even an ancient gnarly juniper tree.

  2. What beautiful views. I'm going to have to read up about the Grand Canyon.

  3. Beautiful photos! That's such a spectacular place. The foot trail down to the bottom looks quite formidable!
